What a year it has been!

My highlight was the Ryder Cup.

I thought the golf on show was out of this world made all the better by the victory for Team European. I really like the golf course and how it was set up tough. The rough was very penal.

I enjoy seeing rewards for hitting a fairway. I personally think some of the golf course set up on the PGA Tour is too soft and it often turns into a putting competition.

My personal highlight was playing with Peter Piorun at the National Pro Am.

Peter qualified to play because of his win at Lee Park. We both really enjoyed the qualifying round at Sherwood Forest. If you have never played Sherwood Forest I would highly recommend it. Unfortunately we didn’t make the Grand Final later this month in Turkey. Look out for the qualifying competition at Lee Park next year and maybe we can go one better and reach the Grand Final.

Bounce in your wedges

I often get asked about what bounce is best on a wedge. When choosing your bounce take into consideration the course conditions you play, the angle of attack you create when pitching-are you a digger, neutral or slider?

Some benefits and disadvantages of using more #golf bounce in your wedge shots.

Sequencing your Downswing.

A lot of problems in the strike occur because of the wrong sequence in the downswing. The desired sequence is for the lower body to move first maintaining the stretch between the shoulders and hips maintain the x – factor. I see the shoulders catching the hips too often in the downswing. This generally causes the shaft to steepen or occasionally shallow too much. Either way club gets off plane and contact or direction is compromised. Check out video below🔽
