A little tip for this winter practice

Remember to have some patience when learning the golf swing or making changes with your swing this Winter.

Go to the range and practice your swing without hitting any golf balls to start and then as you feel more comfortable with your swing start hitting a few balls.

Practice your swing on the range for a few days, maybe even a couple of weeks until you are comfortable before you go out to the course. Remember to relax and focus on your targets when you are on the course and try to avoid thinking about swing mechanics, rather focus on trusting and believing in your game.

Three Video Tips this month

  • Tip 1 – Great Wedge Play Part 2.
  • Tip 2 – The 3 Critical Variables Part 2.
  • Tip 3 – Hip Turn in the Backswing

3 Things to lower your scores

  1. Understand your shot patterns

Do you tend to hit more Left or Right, Long or Short of your intended target

To help use the Top Tracer at the Liverpool Golf Centre.

  1. Pick Targets Points to allow for your Tendencies.

Try to maximise the number of shots landing on the green and fairway.

I would recommend you look at Adam Young and Scott Fawcett for more information about this.

  1. Develop Tools to Fix Things

“golf is a game of opposites!’

Work less on perfecting your swing and more on your abilities, such as the ability to

  • hit more left/right
  • hit more toe/heel
  • hit the ground more forward/back/deeper/shallower

Be adaptable, not rigid
